My 5th little boy was born at 2.45 am Thursday 10th January.
After a day of mild but very regular contractions and a long walk and a warm bath I didnt think much was going to happen. I had my dinner and put my two ds's to bed and the contractions started to get a little closer and stronger. By 10.30 pm I called my mw. I also called dh home from work. She came and examined me and said I was 2cm dialated. She told me to take some paracetamol and get some sleep.
I tried but by about 1am the contractions were pretty un bearable. I went to the loo and had a very bloody show. Walked slowly back to my room to wake dh and told him to ring the mw.
Iwent back to the bathroom where the contractons were coming very fast and strong. I told dh to ring for an ambulance but I knew I wasn't going anywhere. He did so and was told they were on their way. By this time the pain was so bad I was climbing into the sink !!
He rang again but I was ready to push by now. I got onto my knees and rested my arms on the bath and with the mans instructions on the phone within three pushes our baby boy was born onto our bathroom mat. About 5 mins later the paramedics turned up. They cut the cord and wrapped baby up after checking him and me over. My mw turned up about 20 mins later to deliver my placenta. No stitches and all is well
George Graham Michael weighing 8lb2oz and a mass of very dark hair delivered by his very clever if not a lttle shell shocked Daddy
