Kaesha Ophelia born 13/12/07 7lbs3

Woke up with contractions 2 and half mins apart at 6am, pottered about and waited til 8am to ring M/W she arrived about an hour later.

Examined me and I was 4cm dilated so she told my partner to start filling the pool.

I got tens machine on and chowed down on the gas and air (my new best friend!) got in the pool which felt wonderful and floated about for a couple of hours, then my waters went, unfortunately there was lots of meconium in my waters so I was then faced with immediate transfer to hospital sadly abandoning our homebirth plan.
Crazy bendy fast journey in ambulance to hospital and then a few hours which are a total blur to me as I as high as a kite on the G&A!!!
I was pushing and pushing but nothing was happening and Kaesha was in distress, I was so exhausted by this point as had been labouring for 11 hours. They were concerned for her safety so I was taken to theatre and given epidural, it was then they discovered she had the cord round her neck twice, which is why she wouldn't come out!! So they quickly cut me and pulled her out fast with the forceps.
They had to take her off and give her oxygen and clean out her airways as she wasn't breathing very well and was very floppy, I just kept asking everyone is she ok? She picked up quickly and we then got to hold our beautiful baby girl.
The whole second half of the labour is a total blur to me, but it was all amazing and we did it, she's here.
We had to stay in hospital for a couple of days as I wasn't passing urine and had to have a catheter but as soon as that sorted we came home and we're loving parenthood, she is very chilled out and just eats and sleeps!
Sorry for looooongg post!!
