I should have guessed that if I organised a fireworks party that the baby would pick that day to show its face!
Woke at 7.30am and felt a couple of twinges, by 8am contractions were every 3minutes. So we rushed around and got DS1 to school, dropped DS2 at the creche and got to the hospital, needed to get 4 hours of drip for Group B strep.
Had to stop three times from the car to the delivery suite as the contractions were so fast and strong.
Started worrying that I'd be told that I was only 2cm dilated but got taken straight into delivery room and checked. 5cm already!! it was only 9.30am. Midwife said this is going to be quick, didn't believe her as I'd taken 10hrs with no2, 4hours of 2nd stage. Used the gym ball a lot and by 11am asked to be checked again as it was so intense, 9cm. Thought I'd start using some gas and air and then started pushing at 11.40 and out came my baby girl at 12.03, I was kneeling up on the bed and when the head came out could hear her crying and was told the baby was blowing snot bubbles! few mins later Evie Havana was delivered, could see her between my legs and the MW said it's a girl, I had to get her to repeat it three times, just so surprised and chuffed. Thought it was going to be another boy didn't think I'd have a girl. She was then put straight onto me and I fed her and it was wonderful. She weighed 9lb 11oz. No stitches or anything.I didn't get my 4hrs of antibotics so Evie Havana had to have a drip so we stayed in until last night, which was actually ok as I had my own room and chilled without the worries of DS1&2. She is just gorgeous with huge fat cheeks! So bonfire night for us will never be the same. Hubby still had the fireworks party and raised a toast to me and Evie. Magical
