Megan Neona arrived safely at 13.13 on Saturday 30th October weighing 8lb 9oz.

Contractions started at 9.00pm on Friday 29th and within the first hour were coming every 4-5mins and lasting for 1-2 mins. Arrived at hospital at 1.30 and was 3-4 cm dilated. Coped with gas and air until 4.30am when waters broke and the contractions were like pain I never knew existed! At this point I was 7cm dilated but Megan decided that she was not dropping down in readiness and was still about 3cm away from where she should be (sorry didn't listen to technical term). So I had the epidural and also the hormone drip with the plan to increase the contractions to help her move down.
This didn't work, and although I was 10cm dilated and pushed for over an hour she did not want to leave me! So an emergency c-section was required. Not what was planned at all but now have the most beautiful daughter lying by my side and everything was definately worth it.
Feeling sore and walking is difficult but dh is a star and helping in every way

-- If you decide to have another one (yeah, right) your body will remember that it did all that work to get to 10cms, so at least that part might be easier. Worked for me! --
