The right time to tell

Hello!

I have my dating scan next Tuesday which will make me 12+4. When do you feel is the right time to tell people and why?

I have told my parents already as I wanted the support from them incase anything was to happen, they are like my best friends so I wanted them to know. It's just everyone else I don't know when to tell. I see a lot of people announcing as soon as they have the 12 week scan and my partner is so excited to tell people but I can't help being so anxious, like it's all too good to be true :-(

Thanks to anyone who responds.

We told parents straight away- too excited to keep that news!
And a friend at work guessed- so it was out in the open quickly!!
Congratulations btw!!

@grafittiartist thank you! I think I'm just over thinking things. Constantly worrying! Xx

Well- you'll just want to do the right thing!
Isn't it lovely telling parents?!

@grafittiartist yes! I love seeing people's reactions! ❤️

After the 12 week dating scan I feel it’s appropriate to share for those who don’t already know :) I understand being cautious though. If you’ve had sad experiences in past of late miscarriages I’d wait longer though. Congratulations, best news in the world!!

I'm 40+4 and haven't told anyone but parents haha

@Dan3i I'm the same hun. I told only my parents but my partner told almost everyone he spoke to last time (this was before saying scan!) so imagine my upset when we found there were complications at the 12wk scan and so many people knew. So this time, our parents know again but I'm not in the headspace to tell anyone else even between 12-16wk I'm too scared.
Obviously I can't tell my partner when he can tell people, but we've agreed absolutely no one else before 1st trimester is happily passed. I can quite imagine with all the excitement he'll post on fb.. I won't be. I'm busy worrying for the both of us.

Take care and try keep calm babe xx
