Well, after going 5 days overdue and thinking it was never going to happen I started a thread calling on the collective power of mumsnet to help, and it worked!
Woke up at 1am on Monday 22 October and my Braxton Hicks were a bit too strong for my liking... so woke dh, called hospital (who didn't think I could be in that much labour as I could still hold a conversation!) and then got my sister over to look after dd and ds.
By time she arrived the contractions had really speeded up so (having had emergency home birth last time) I knew I needed to get to hospital pronto.
We got there for 2.30 - midwives still not convinced I was properly in labour until I threw up I think! Was checked and was 5cm dilated.
I told them it happened really quick last time so they rushed me into the labour room, where I had a very intense but quick delivery.
At 4am my gorgeous little boy was born - screaming to high heaven!
The Midwives were brill and I didn't need stitches, so had a shower, went to postnatal ward and was discharged at 2pm that afternoon.
We have named him Ronan (which is an Irish King, and also means little seal - which was apt as that was how I described his movements inside the womb, Thomas is his middle name after my dad.
I am knackered (well I am very old!) but adjusting to life with a newborn (5 years since ds)
Right - better catch some zzzzz whilst I can.
xx
