My beautiful granddaughter Kaitlyn finally arrived 15 days late after a very long wait yesterday morning at 6.55am by c.section. She weighed in at 7lb 14oz and is just adorable. Poor daughter had been having contractions since saturday every 10 minutes on and off and went in to be induced on tuesday at 7 30 am when she was already 1-2cm dilated she was given a pessary but 6 hours later was still only 2 cm so given another and some diamorphine for the pain which she was finding excrutiating she got to 4 cm and was given some more diamorphine by the time she was 8cm she needed an epidural as they began to be concerned about the ammount of pain she was experiencing 2 hours later she was fully dilated but with no urges to push 2 hours after that they decided to call in a doctor to investigate who found the baby was back to back lying oblique(diagonally) with her head tilted back by now the babys heartbeat was dropping fast and she had opened her bowels so it was off to theatre for c section. It was a very traumatic experience and my daughter is still on Morphine but she is breast feeding well and Im so so proud of them both.It feels great to be a nan
