HI there,
Now I am home I can finally give you all the gory details.
I was suffering with a migraine all day Tuesday, so did not go out. Seemed to have cleared up Wednesday, so walked to school with DD and mum. Went into town and also to visit one of mums friends. Had back ache most of the day. MIgraine returned with a vengeance about 4.30pm. Managed to eat a little dinner, but wenr up to my bed after that.
At about 6pm DP asked if he could go out as usual on a Wednesday, but I said I would rather he stayed home as I was starting to get really worried about the baby.
I called the hospital and the suggested I go in to get checked over. Got there about 6.30pm and they took some blood and put me on the monitor. The little one was wriggling about so much that she kicked the pad off, trhere was theefore a gap in the heartbeat trace. I therefore had to go back on the monitor after being allowed up to the toilet. At about 9.40 the doc gave me some codeine for my migraine and when the bloods came back ckear I was allowed home at 10.40pm. I went straight to my bed, but could not sleep. The codeine started to work and as the migraine wore off, my backe ache got worse.
At midnight I called the hospital again and told them I was on my way back in. I got there at 12.10am and was given a room with a bath as I wanted a water birth. After finding that the bath was not helping with the contractions in my back I decided to just go with the gas and air and Richard massaging my back while he could. At 2.30am my waters broke during a contraction and I pushed Shula out at 3am. She weighed 7lbs 2ozs.
Had quite a deep tear which seemed to take an age to stitch up. After a bath I walked up to the ward, while the idwife pushed Shula in her cot.
It was nice to stay in for a day or 2, but I was getting bored so am now glad to be home.
