My own mother, father, brother, nan, cousins, godmother non of them congratulated, me.

My brothers wife did, but not my brother and is ignoring any texts or messages just asking how is everything, and to come and visit the children

My nan who I was close to has just started ghosting me, not bothering with me, ignorint my calls. My nans sister and god mother just completly blanked me

My mom and dad are angry and upset I'm back in a relationship with my current childs father and have been for over a year, I announced that were having another baby and they fell out with me. My mom insulting and name calling, she won't apologise, my dad's ignoring calls and distant

My cousin and partner congratulated me, but not her brother, sister or my auntie and uncle. My dad's side congratulated me.

What the hell is going on, this didn't happen with my first. My brother has given no explanation or my nan, my mom and snd dad horrible about it, etc

I imagine they're very worried for you because of what you've been through with this man in the past, so they don't see having another child with him as cause for celebration and from your post, you know that. Would you prefer they lied?

What exactly is your history with the father of your first DC?

AlternativePerspective · 09/10/2020 20:06

What’s the back story here? Presumably you originally broke up with this man for a reason enough to mean your family hoped you wouldn’t get back together.

In which case I wouldn’t think a pregnancy is really something to celebrate.

It definitely sounds like there's a backstory with your family and partner if they didn't want you to be back together with him.

They're probably upset and worried for you and your child. I'm sure they'll all love the baby very much once it's here but it sounds like the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy may be far from ideal.

I am also wondering what happened with your partner for your family to react in this way.
