Clueless about baby showers, please help!

My cousin is having a baby shower on Sunday and I have no idea what to buy her! I've never been to one before, she's currently 33 weeks pregnant. We know she's having a girl and I've messaged her mum who said the baby has absolutely loads of clothes and I'm pretty sure they have everything else do I thought something for her might be better? Or is that not the done thing at baby showers?

I think baby showers are something we just copied from America and I personally won't be having one (I'm 25 weeks pregnant) because I feel like I'd be pressuring people to buy us gifts when I'd much rather they do that if they actually want to! Fully expecting to get flamed for that opinion but any advice with the gift ideas appreciated!!

Some extra large muslins (120cm×120cm) - very useful and lots of pretty patterns on Amazon
A book/s for the baby (soft cloth ones or even proper story ones they can put away until the baby is a bit older)
A blanket - again, lots of pretty patterns and always useful imo
A "survival" kit for the first few weeks - sudocrem, paracetamol, chocolate biscuits, a nice soap/shampoo for mum, maybe a baby book (a factual one I mean, for the parents to read/consult)

Shower-type gift = inexpensive but useful, and if you are being traditional, it is for the baby (rather than the new mother). My standby was always pretty muslins (I don't think you can ever have too many).

Or I might go for nice editions of books
