Sid Harvey arrived on 6th September.....V.Late posting, I'm besotted!!
I had a "Text Book" labour - according to the midwives, if it wasn't for the swearing it could have been recorded to show expectant Mum's
Started at home regular contractions 2 mins apart, not very strong about 2pm.....DH fretting so I phoned labour ward, who suggested I come in as DS1 born in 2.5 hrs.....
examined and only 2cm, was going to be transferred to the ward, when contractions got much stronger, midwife suggested a bath, which helped more through distraction (having something else to think about) she then suggested we meet back in my room and try TENS....
When I got back to room, I had to buzz her as contractions coming thick and fast, when she arrived I told her I didn't think TENS would do it, I was examined again at 7cm....no pain relief...
Sid made his entrance 21 mins later, and I managed with Gas & Air, and a fantastic DH
Sid was 7lb 11oz (a shock as I had been told he was a V.Big baby)and we are all smitten!!
