Baby shower

Hi all,

Some of my colleagues are throwing me a baby shower and even if I wasn't thinking of having one (we don't have them in my home country) I have to admit I'm excited about it.

Now, the thing is I don't know the dynamics of baby showers. They've set a date and they've asked me who would I like to be there but they want to keep everything else a surprise.

My question is: what is expected of me? I've never been to a baby shower and as I said I don't know how the whole thing works. Am I to pay for anything? Or give out baby favours or something like that? I would hate it if I didn't respond appropriately if you know what I mean! I hope I'm making sense! Any guidance would be extremely appreciated!!!

Thank you!

You are the honouree, not the host, so you neither arrange nor provide anything.

You go along with what's arranged for you, and you are delighted with every pressie, no matter what it is (and whether you like it). You thank everyone profusely, and follow up with a thank you note/email/other message of the type your friends prefer

And enjoy it all!
