Diplidophus' little boy has a little brother!

My lovely DS1 has a little brother and, guess what - he's gorgeous!

I was due on the 30th June and aiming for a VBAC. I had a sweep done on Thursday (28th) followed by twinges all night. I was woken with a big contraction at 5 and my waters went. By the time we got to hospital labour was well under way! I spent a couple of hours in the waterpool until the pain go tthe better of me and I wanted some pethidine. When that wore out a couple of hours later I gave in again and was screaming for an epidural - literally! At examination I was 9cm dilated and the midwife was sure the baby would be there any minute. Two hours later and the head was just about visible. Four hours later and there had been no progress at all despite strong contractions. Both baby and I were becoming tachycardic so the doctor was called. We were dismayed when he wanted to do a CSec (I was determined not to have another!). We persuaded him to have a 'trial of ventouse/forceps'.

We got dolled up for theatre (which I found terrifying) and were taken through. A big slice, a lot a rummaging and a few pushes and my beautiful baby boy was born!

7lb and 3oz born at 20.21 pm, he's called Morgan. We stayed in for one night and were very glad to get home. Still feeling very battered and bruised but thrilled to bits!

Did I mention that he was beautiful?!

Well done on your VBAC, doesn't it feel great to go home so relatively early ?

Beautiful name by the name (my dads middle name)

Congratulations and well done on your vbac. Sorry to hear it didn't go quite as planned and hope you aren't too sore. Welcome to Morgan too.

Thanks for all of your messages - only just back online as DS1 is at nursery today (thank god!). I can't beleive that almost three weeks has already passed.

Morgan (aka nipple-mancer) is doing well and has put on nearly 2 lb's - no wonder my nipples feel as they have been through a cheesegrater.

I have had a littel bit of a slow recovery with a uterine infection. Ky stiches are still a little sore but both vastely improved.

I have added some photos of my beautiful boy (I think!)
