3flightsofstairs VBACs baby boy 8 days early!

Baby Boy 2 was born at 5.30pm (eight days early and caught on the hop in the names department) weighing in at 7lb 7oz on 21st June. All well if slightly shocked, VBAC worked out (thank you Lulumama,Klaw, etc. for all of the sensible advice!), labour started at 9am, at hospital by 11am, gas and air by 1pm, very manageable labour but started shouting for epidural by 4.30pm! Was walked round to medical side of ward (had been at home from home unit) by 5pm by midwives who by that point thought I was deaf and telling each other I'd give birth before the epidural came; 3 more contractions and waters broke on the way and 6 midwives appeared from nowhere and tried to mop up oilslick in comedy Laurel and Hardy stylee and at least one of them tried to catch the baby that was clearly going to "fall out" with a small hand towel. Didn't get my epidural and baby was born 20 minutes later. Oh my, it's different from a c-section isn't it?
Stayed the night in hospital with DH, baby straight on the boob and feeding v well. Aaah! He's lovely. Little bro kissing and cuddling him when we got home - long may that continue! Look forward to catching up on the post natal threads soon...
Thanks again to everyone for their support - good luck to those waiting to pop!

Oh Congratulations 3Flights!!!!!!!!!

Very well done on achieving your VBAC!!! You star, and you chose to do it your way, even if you didn't know just quite what your way was going to be!

The elation will last forever so please remember that you are not Superwoman and must take time to let your body recover, enjoy your babymoon and generally bask in all your glory!

I look forward to names and further details when you have time!
