Saving the best (birth) till last !!

My beautiful daughter Charlotte Grace was born on the 29th of May weighing 7lbs 12 3/4oz.

Even though it was my third baby I was more scared of the birth than ever before.
My previous labours were endured strapped to a monitor from start to finish so they ended up with more interventions and were longer than they could have been imo.So this time I thought I'm not getting on a bed till absolutely necessary and what a difference it made!

I had been getting a variety of niggly pains of and on for a least a week and kept thinking is this it only to be dissappointed many times.
On the day my DD was born I woke up at 3am with what felt like braxtons and I couldn't sleep.DH was due to go to work at 6.45 and I still wasn't sure if it was the real thing but we decided he should stay home which was a good thing as ar 7am things started to progress I began having pains every 20 mins so from then on I either walked around or knelt over a chair at 10.30 things went to every 3 mins so by 11am we set off to the hospital.
Contractions were coming thick and fast by then and when the contractions came I started high pitch humming to try to drown out the pain DH must have thought I was nuts but hey it worked.
I got to hosp at 11.30 10cms dilated I was amazed! My waters were then broken by the midwife. Now normally for me this is were the dreaded purple pushing starts but this time the babys head had descended nicely and my body did most of the pushing.

So a mere 44 mins after arriving at the hosp my totally unexpected daughter was born I was convinced she was son no3!

So what with the speed of delivery and an unexpected daughter I was somewhat dazed and overwhelmed and ecstatic

I was home by 5pm. DS1 is thrilled with his sister he wanted a sister all along.DS2 is indifferent but he's only 19mnths.Dad is besotted and mum feels blessed with her complete family and a wonderful experience all round.

P.s if anyone has any tips on looking after 3 children under 4 I would be most grateful

What a fantastic birth! Well done you.

I had 2 boys and a girl all under 3, its lovely. I found the boys played while DD slept in the day, giving me some time to myself. Its not that bad really. If it were I wouldn't be having number 4 in a few weeks

congratulations xx
