Hi

my sis has finally popped!!

its a long story but ill give you the quick basics ...

she was told to go into hospital for the 2nd time due to high BP, they told her she would be induced in the morning (is having pains now).

Morning comes and they tell her she can go home and still have a home birth(??!)

So she goes home at 11am ... by 3pm shes having stronger pains and feet have swelled, midwife comes and takes BP - its high again 120/95 or something so she says go to hospital in 1 hour

during that hour she goes into full blown labour herself!!

she gets in at 6pm -- at 8pm the consultant comes to give her prostin gel she exaimines my sis and shes 7 cm dialated!!

at 10pm shes examined again (shes only 18 and coped with just gas and air she did soooo well!) and they say shes fully dialated and ask if she feels like pushing?s she says yes so starts to push!

2 hours later shes still pushing and they examine her -- shes only 8cm theyd got it wrong first time

so by now shes knackered and they offer her an epidural which she takes.

but it doesnt work

3 hours later shes fully dialtaed and pushed for 3o mins

and TYLER JAMES is born at 3.40 AM on May 2nd!! weighing 8lbs 2oz!!

He had trouble breathing so was taken to special care unit - they did bloodtests and xrays and he has a chest infection, so hes on a breathing machine but we are told he will be fine, they did another xray yesterday and said the anibiotics are already clearing up the infection!

im soooo proud!!!!

Well done H!!

hi,

hes better,

his infection seems to be clearing - he had a lumbar puncture to rule out meningitis but the results aren't back yet but the doc said judging by his bloods and xrays of his chest (thats where the shadow was) that its not meningitis,

he may be home wednesday

my sis isn't taking it all well, but i dont suppose any new mummy would,

hes just soooo beautiful!!
