Morning.

Just to say, Katie Eizabeth has arrived in the World - very quickly! She was born at 2.45 a.m. on Friday 20th April weighing in at a dinky 6 pounds 11 ounces (she was 8 days early)

It was an unplanned home birth, as we didn't get out of the front door, as the whole process took 2 1/4 hours - what a lucky lady I am!

In fact, it was so quick, that the midwife didn't get here until after Katie had been born. My next door neighbour (who came round so she thought to look after dd1 whilst we went to hospital!) ended up delivering Katie with the help of a paramedic! Fortunately, our neighbour used to work as a midwife support assistant, so we were in safe hands! Dh was fab throughout, running around getting towels and stuff.

It really was a wonderful experience, and ther best bit was being able to have a bath in my own bath, and sleep in my own bed. And then for dd1 to come in to our room in the morning to see her new sister - the look on her face was truly magical.

Need to head, as lo waking up.

Lots of love

Congrats SOL, and welcome to Katie Elizabeth! (Fantastic choice of names. Elizabeth was out choice for a girl too).

What a lovely birth story: am most . I wanted a home-birth, but had a pesky induction instead.

Well done to your DH too.
