Ethan Samuel was born on the 17th April (9 days early),weighing 7lbs 13oz's.
After having a 24 hour labour with my first ds,I'm still shocked at how quickly it all happened this time.
I woke up at 2.30am to do a wee and found I'd had a show.By 2.45am I was getting fairly painful contractions,so took 2 paracetemol and tried to go back to bed.By 3.30am they were coming every couple of minutes so I phoned my mum to come and sit with ds1 and at 5.15am we arrived at the hospital.I got as far as the corridor of the labour ward when a midwife asked me if my waters had gone-that very second they gushed all over the floor.
She then examined me and I was 8cms,but she had trouble monitoring the baby,so called a doctor who put a monitor on the babys head and told me I was infact 10cms and could start pushing.I was too late for any pain relief except gas and air and after 2 pushes they realised the cord was around the babys neck and with him being "back to back",I wasn't having too much fun,so with the help of the ventouse Ethan was born at 6.05am.
I had a couple of stitches and then was on the phone to everyone by 6.30,telling them our good news.
We stayed in for a day as Ethan is slightly jaundiced but now we'e home,he's doing really well and we're enjoying being a family of 4-to be told years ago that we'd never have children and then after a 7 year wait,we then have 2 in the space of 2 years is just fantastic and ds1 is enjoying being a big brother.
