morocco's home vbac

baby emily was born last night at home after a fab birth with my lovely dh, doula and midwife to look after us both. she was also born with her waters intact and the cord round her neck for extra excitement and is the first home vbac for our area [proud]. the labour took ages to get going with on and off contractions over a week or so until I had a sweep yesterday that set things off. it stopped and started a lot, so much so I even got to have a nap halfway through, but after staying at 9 3/4 for what seemed like forever, I finally got to push her out at 7.30 last night. no tears but a few painful grazes. she is beautiful.

Congratulations - you must feel great! I love hearing stories like this - I'm due in two weeks - a VBAC at home with midwide and doula. Makes me all smiley. Well done.

What an inspiring birth story

carrotcake · 25/03/2007 21:04

Fab news Morroco! I had a vbac nine weeks ago ,wasn't brave enough to be at home though, but labour sounds very similar, lots of stop starts and then stuck at 9 1/2 cent for ages! You got there in the end, very well done. Hurray for vabcs!!

Laura032004 · 25/03/2007 21:20

lovely birth tale morocco
I had a stop start at my homebirth too from 9pm and by 5am I had run out of steam, so glad you stuck with yours.
Sounds wonderful
Hope you're settling in well
