After weeks of anxiety concerning his growth and weight progression, little Sam arrived last week weighing 5 1/2 lbs and in perfect health. The delivery by c-section was fairly horrific but that's another story. IUGR was dismissed as a possible reason for his low weight gain as the placenta appeared to be functioning properly. With him here and healthy, none of it seems particularly important anymore. Thanks to all the mums who offered me some very encouraging comments in the week preceeding the deliverly, they really helped inject some reason into what was a very fraught period.
