Hi, DS2 Evan David arrived on 4 Feb at 16:46 weighing in at 7lbs 7oz. All of us doing well.

for those who want details...

Started getting minor contractions at 6am and then these geared up enough to make TENS worthwhile at about noon. By half one, started to get pretty painful, long and regular so the hospital said to come in. When we got there, they examined me and said I was 5-6cm dilated which I was really pleased about having only been 3cm when I got there with DS1!

They started filling the pool and I climbed in as soon as poss. It was deliciously warm but also speeded things up so contractions got pretty painful and I bellowed the place down. Got a bit of gas and air right at transition to help me through the actual delivery, but DS was out with 3 or 4 big pushes. Felt very weird but also very lovely to give birth in water and pick little Evan up out of it to give him his first hello.

There was no rush for the room afterwards so us and DH were able to chill for an hour or two afterwards before getting cleaned up and moving to a postnatal room.

All been going well since getting home. Evan feeding pretty well and sleeping (though more happily in our arms than the moses basket esp at night, ho hum!). DS1 so far enjoying being a big brother but am expecting the novelty to wear off at some point.
