Annieapple has a baby girl - Lauren Rose

Lauren Rose was born at 10pm on Wednesday 24 January at hospital. She was 6lb and 11oz with very dark hair and looks exactly like DS1 when he was born.

I had to be induced because my waters started leaking on Tuesday morning and boy did it hurt. I begged for an epidural for hours because contractions were coming strongly and painfully every 2 minutes but although my stomach felt like it was going to burst, I wasn't dilating.

I thought I was set for a CS because of failure to progress, but I suddenly went from 3 cm to 10cm in about 15 minutes and and when they finally relented at 9.30pm to give me the epidural, I wanted to push.

My labour was 3 hours and the final stage was 5 minutes.

That's the science bit - the other bit is that I am stunned to have made a baby girl after having two sons and it has taken some time to sink in, and to find a name when, going on past history, I was expecting a boy.
