Well, where do I start!!!

My DD, Jasmine Lily Louise was born on 23/12/06 at 10.02am by emergeny c section, weighing 8lb 10oz, following a 44 hour labour (yes 44!)

I went to the hospital on EDD 21/12/06 where they gave me a sweep, as I was already dilated, it bought on contractions almost straight away!!! Went home & was back in hospital at 11.00pm that night but still wasnt dilated enough so they sent me home again, I was up all night Thursday having the most awful contractions(!) quite close together, but I felt a plum phoning the hospital so just stayd at home with my TENS machine which in my opinion was a load of cr*p, especially when DH thought he was being helpful turning it up FULL when I wasnt looking!!! So went to hospital eventually on Friday lunchtime where I was 5cm dilated & still was at 7.00pm that night so they gave me the drip to speed it all up, which got me to 10 cm by about midnight, by this time I was physically exhausted & couldnt cope with the pain, I think I had go immune to gas & air & the Meptid by this point!!! So I had an epidural, which was the scariest expeience ever as I had a leaky tap on it so they had to re do it, by this point I thought that meant I was paralysed forever! At about 1.00am on Saturday I asked for a c section as Jasmine was extremely high in my cervix & I was too exhausted to push, they refused saying I would be able to do it, obiously I couldnt hence the reason I had a emergency c section at 10.00am,they tried the forceps etc but she was too high to be got out with those.

My consultant has said the reason she got stuck is bacause she is such a big baby, as I am only very petite & 5ft 2, my hubby is a big build & 6ft 5 so we knew we would have a big baby, just not that big!! So they said next time it will be a planned c section as I wont be able to give birth vaginally, but I'm not sure there will be a next time!!!!!

Sorry for the long post, I guess I am still excited about the whole thing!!!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!
