Ivan David Hull arrived on 1st November 2006 at 3.08 am weighing 7lb 15 oz. I was exactly 37 weeks but because of my excess fluid, my waters went early...

30th Oct - 7.30 am - waters go - all over flat. Call labour ward who tell me to come straight in. Call DP who has just arrived at his desk and made his first coffee!

3.30pm - get moved from delivery room to ante natal ward as nothing happening. Told Induction will be started at 7.30 next morning if nothing overnight.

31st Oct - 8.00 am - 15 deliveries overnight, none mine. DP arrives, expecting induction to have started - it hasn't.

1pm - back down to delivery room. Prostin gel given, left for 6 hours. Nothing.

7pm. Drip started - gas and air. 1 cm dilated.

11pm. Drip up to max. Epidural given. 1cm dilated

1st Nov - 2am - 2cm dilated. Baby's heartbeat very low. Drip switched off.

2.30 am - decision made to have emergency c-section as baby's heartbeat still v low.

3.08 am - Ivan arrives. Had to have GA as felt 2nd stage of cutting - gulp!

We have been home since Friday 3rd November and we're loving it. Feeding well, having dropped to 7lb 5oz, now back up to 7lb 12oz. Nights not so good but to be expected!

Thank you - yes, he's no1
Couldn't have done it without my fabulous DP who was and is brilliant.
Midwives amazed at quick healing of cut. Was ready to go home as the midwives on the ward were lovely but the noise wasn't!
