Hey -

I was due on the 11th October, that night my period cramp type thingies developed into strong pains, not coming regularly, but enough to make me sob - had MW appointment Thursday morning, MW just looked at me and said, she didnt think I was in labour... just Braxtons.

I was not happy, thinking if all that was just practise, then if it happened again I just wanted a C section asap...

Went and say my sisters baby, Thursday afternoon, started having pains again, developed into regular pains, had dinner, lolled about, about 9pm, lit the fire and started watching TV nested on floor, come 11pm, OH (bless him) rang MW, I felt like i needed to either no some thing was actually happening this time, or i was just going to die - then I had a MASSIVE show... (and girls, EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW)

decided to go to local birthing unit instead of staying at home, just wanted some reasurance, got there at 12.30am, I was 3cm! but my BP was up to 140/95 and so the lovely MW advised me to head to the hospital and not stay there as she was concerned...

headed off at 1am on the half hour drive... contractions every 3 mins lasting only 20 seconds though!

When we got there, we got snuggled up in what I now know was the delivery room, (i didnt bother with the tour you see)
was given some pethidine, as I assumed id be in for the long haul and it would all get a lot worse, was monitored on CTG machine and every contraction I had made LO's heart rate drop, the MW ended up waking me up out of my dreamy state and announcing to OH that he needs to wake up to, as the baby was coming NOW!

this must have been about 3am and I was 8cm, she broke my waters... (I remember trying to take my socks off so they didnt get soaked, odd)

from there its a bit of a daze, but LO was born at 4.15am after 10 hours labour and 15 mins second stage, only grazed (although its sore!)

Lola weighs 6.13... im totally in love, and it was well worth the stress, not really bad at all x x x x
