IT'S A BOY!!!!!! Jake Oliver was born by emergency section at 14:42 on Saturday 23rd in the afternoon.

Started having contractions @ 5am Saturday morning woke DH @ 6:30 to say things had started, had shower, put TENS on. Then contractions started coming every 2 minutes and v intense. Called hospital told to go straight in as had prev section. Got to hosp was already 4cm . Baby still lying back to back, given epidural as contractions so bad and frequent I couldn't talk. Epidural didn't work (onlt numbed my legs) eberything above hips I still felt. Topped this up 4 times and still didn't work. Doctor was called and was told there was no way this baby could out in the position it was in and was distressed as there was meconium in waters and heartrate falling. Taken into theatre given another epi top-up which still didn't work. Then tried to give me a spinal SIX times and it finally worked on the last attempt!!

Then Jake was born. We have been told that we are very lucky to have him as he had a true knot in the cord (they cut this out after and showed me) and hasn't been getting enough oxygen etc.. through the pregnancy.

He weighed in at a hefty 8lb 10oz and is gorgeous! I came home yesterday and feel tired but happy.
