Elizabeth Marie was born on Monday afternoon at 12.39 by emergengy section weighing in at 7lbs 10 1/2oz.
For those of you who want to know, here are the gory details. After spending Sunday morning being monitored we decided to go ahead with the induction and I was given the first lot of gel pessary at 3pm. Not much happened and there was some confusion over how much they could give me as it was an attempted vbac so they decided to wait until my consultant came in on monday morning. I started to have contractions at 3 am and they were coming every couple of minutes by morning. I was examined at 9am and found to be 2cms dilated, so the roughest dr in the world broke my waters and I spent the next couple of hours wandering around hoping that gravity would do the trick. It didn't, so they put me on to a syntoconin drip to intensify the contractions I was having. Luckily I was hooked up to the monitor because the 1st big contraction that I had made my little girls heart beat drop to 50 and stay there. They examined me and found that my cervix had closed (god knows what my body was doing) so the next thing I knew I was on my way to theatre and my little girl was delivered.
She is beautiful and perfect in every way and smells divine. DH is also breaking my heart because he's all big and strong and she's so tiny and delicate looking and he is so gentle and tender with her. Ds is being a treasure and keeps saying 'I love my sister three' which is at the top of his scale!
So, in short, a very happy family. Now if we could just tackle this breast feeding lark....
