Finally getting round to a birth announcement ladies from the September thread!

After getting v. impatient, I woke up last Saturday with a show and irregular contractions between every 5 and 15 mins. Phoned the hospital who said come for monitoring, as I had had a previous c-section. Went in at 9.15. By 10 we were on the delivery suite, with contractions every 3 mins or so, and getting more painful. Doing lots of heavy breathing... Gas and air made me feel really sick... so gave that up as a bad job, and was coping quite well til they told me I was only 4 cm at 11.30!! 45 mins later the pains were much worse and I was desperate for more pain relief, so had a pethidine injection - "too early" for an epidural... The pethidine just made me dizzy and want to lie down, didn't do much for the pain!! Contractions getting worse and worse until I said I thought I needed to go to the toilet, at about 1.15 - I'd gone from 4 cm to 10 in under 2 hours, and Fraser was born at 1.55 pm. Unfortunately, he had his hand on his face, so I got third degree tears from his exit.. ouch with only dizzy pethidine... Then 2 hours in theatre under a spinal block to get all sown up.

Still, it was so worth it, he's gorgeous, 9 days old now, and so far so good....
