I was due on Tuesday, and all day Wednesday had irregular contractions. mw did a sweep, and said that my cervix was in the wrong place (what, like on my ELBOW??) She thoughtfully moved it for me, and had a few stronger contracts afterwards, but nothing significant.

had a long drawn out labour last time, and both mw and I thought it would be the same this time round. went to bed feeling very p*ssed off.

awoke at 2am with full on contracts every 2-3 mins. Soon gasped at DH to get mw (booked for a HB). he privately thought that it was too early - which proves that a woman just KNOWS these things!

mw arrived at 3.15. pushing at 4, and William came out with cord around neck at 4.25. job done!

Really pleased that it went ok - but was very frightened, getting such full on contracts for 2 1/2 hrs, when i was expecting a couple of days of them!

Congratulations

Williams birth sounds almost identical to my DS2's - contractions started at 2:15am and DS2 born at 4:26am Only, my contractions didn't hurt until 15 mins before birth.

What did he weigh??
