Hi Everyone
Well I've finally got round to let you all know how things went.
Alexander Cameron was born at 00:52 on 12th July. He weighed in at 7lbs 13 ozs (exactly the same as his big brother) and ended up being 6 days late.
Woke up on the Tuesday morning, trying to decide if I'd wet myself or if this was it. Turns out my waters were leaking. Rang DH and he got back home for around 11am. Had some mild contractions, so had a relaxing bath and put on TENS at around 2pm. DS arrived home from school around 4pm and was excited that his brother/sister was on their way but a bit confused as I was screaming in pain So off he went to Grandad's.
Went into hospital at around 6pm as contractions about 6-7 mins apart to be told only 2 cms and go back home. Arrived home just as the pain stepped up a level and told DH in not so polite turns to remove TENS. Tried a warm bath as pain gone from back to front but couldn't get bump into the water.
Went back in at 9.30pm to be told still only 2cm {shock} so couldn't go in pool, so used gas and air instead. Managed to stay stood up for most of the time. Got to around midnight when I uttered those memoriable words 'I need to poo'. DH had been warned if I said that it meant I needed to push, so he got a midwife and I began to push while hanging over the back of the bed. Managed not to swear or dig my nails into DH and he was really surprised at how fast it all went.
When baby popped out DH found out it was a boy and told me. All I kept saying was 'We've had a baby' Good stuff that gas and air DH got first cuddle.
Had to have a few stitches but left together to enjoy Alex. Was asked if I wanted to go on to ward or home, so came home. Left hospital at 9am after hearing test and doctor checkup.
Was really lucky, as we had a wonderful mw and it was really laid back in the mw led unit. Dimmed lights, aromatherapy, etc. Just didn't get the chance to get in the pool but I really don't care. It was a great birth and I would happy do it all again. Wow I must be totally mad

Congratulations, Puddytats, I'm so pleased to hear about something so wonderful happening for you! I bet he's gorgeous. I think I had my two in the same nice room as you. The lovely dimmed lights and calm atmosphere really helped me.
