Finn arrived on thu 15th June at 1.54am. I was 41+5. I went to bed on wed night and just after midnight felt a sudden contraction - followed by another, 3 minutes later. Me and dh jumped out of bed and rang mother in law to come straight round to look after dd. By 12.30 we were on our way to hospital, contractions intense and still 3 minutes apart.
At hospital obs were done then I was examined, 9 cm dilated, after a few more contractions and three big pushes Finn came into the world weighing 8lb 12 1/2 oz. I got by with gas and air.
I'm group B strep positive so finn had to have antibiotics for 48 hours, blood samples were taken from him to check he hadn't contracted it from me. After the 48 hours the cultures came back negative and so we came home on sat afternoon.
He is a dream of a baby, he is b/f and sleeping well. I'm ok, SPD still hurts alot but being careful. Biggest challenge is dd (almost 3) who is finding the whole event difficult, trying to make big fuss of her.
