WOW. My second was 10lb, so I can well imagine that made her eyes water. Congratulations.

arfy · 18/05/2006 15:09

blimey
my first (and currently only) was 9lbs 14oz. 11lbs - ouch!

Rodeo · 18/05/2006 18:11

Gosh, That's 11 bags of sugar! Congrats to your SIL, love the name :)

Rodeo · 18/05/2006 18:13

duh, no it's not, they're 1kg bags Blush More like 6 bags - still a lot though!

Maddison · 18/05/2006 20:27

Ouch!!

Congrats to your sil and welcome to (not so little) William, was my DS2's birthday yesterday too...Smile

sottovoce · 18/05/2006 23:36

Congratulations! I had a 9lb 13 oz DD and thought she was huge! Well done to your SIL - what a star!!

AnnElizabeth · 18/05/2006 23:49

Well done!
My third was 11lb 10oz but (thank God) was a cesarian.
G&A and pethedine only? Give that woman a medal!
Try & get a photo of your babs next to an average sized one, I've got one of Charlie next to my friends 7lb bab & it is sooo cute, you can really appreciate how big he was

Skribble · 18/05/2006 23:51

I wish I had got pics as mine was 11lb 7oz, and i always explain that he looked like a 3myh old but people don't get it.

Skribble · 18/05/2006 23:51

I mean pics next to another baby.

AbiGilby · 19/05/2006 21:08

Blimey, my DS was 5lbs and half an ounce! Your SIL’s DS is over twice that! He’s a month old, and still no-where near that weight!

QE · 19/05/2006 21:22

flippin' 'eck!!! and OUCH!

ds1 was 10lb and I know hat you mean about looking like a 3 month old when they come out.

ds4 was predicted to be over 11lb at 40 weeks - soooo glad that they gave in to my pleading to be induced 2 weeks early - still over 9lb even then!

Congrats to your sil - like the name too (it's ds1's middle name!) Smile

hermykne · 19/05/2006 21:43

that suggestion by annelizabeth is a great one ! wish i 'd done that

hotmama · 19/05/2006 21:57

Congrats - give that woman a medal. Smile

hulababy · 19/05/2006 22:05

Congratulations to your SIL!

plummymummy · 21/05/2006 16:29

HOW did she do that naturally?! Nuff respect. Ds (first and only so far)weighed 91b 3oz and I thought that was huge. Bet she was shocked as first one wasn't a big baby. Congratualtions all round Smile

CarmenH · 21/05/2006 17:56

My oh my! That's a big lad and a brave lady!

LaFleurStEmilion · 21/05/2006 21:25

There should be MBE's awarded for that kind of thing (Mothers Brave of the Empire)!!!

Serious respect from a mere 8lb-er!!!
