Im back home with my new little Girl :) We have named her May!

She was born yesterday morning at 10.30am. Had sweep on Monday and it definitley set things off BIG TIME!!!!

Contractions started during the night about 3am, got to hospital at 5am. Got through it with gas & air and the trusty tens machine. Found it really hard to push her out. She eventually squeezed her way out and weighed 8lbs 11ozs. She is identical to my little girl - freakishly alike when she was a newborn. Breastfeeding well only slowly and likes a snooze then a suk, a snooze then a suck.
We are all smitten by her, a real little sweetie.

My recovery has been much faster this time although I have been taking Arnica so not sure if that is helping.

Dd1 is delighted yet trying hard to understand "gentle!!!" which is really frustrating her, any tips on other words to use so she does not feel irritated???

SO glad its over!

lucykate · 10/05/2006 20:54

congratulations Smile

i wouldn't worry too much about your dd1, babies are tougher than you think. when ds was born, dd tipped a bucket of water over his head during his first bath, he didn't even flinch!.

SoupDragon · 10/05/2006 20:56

Congratulations!!

Beauregard · 10/05/2006 20:56

Congratulations lovecloud and welcome to your little
girl -may.
She was a good weight, my 16weeker was 8lbs 130z so i know how you feel ,lol! I do think recovery is faster 2nd time around-good job too!
I am still telling Raine to be gentle with lola but it is getting better.

SoupDragon · 10/05/2006 20:57

re "gentle" - Use distraction. "She loves it when you stroke her hand/tickle her feet/some other innocuous activity"

Maddison · 10/05/2006 22:06

Congratulations Lovecloud and welcome to May Smile

eidsvold · 11/05/2006 03:25

we used to take dd1's hand and stroke her face with her hand and say gentle. Just a lot of repetition.... just wait before you know it they will be wrestling ( like my 2 3 1/2 and 18 months old) and the baby will come back for more.....

congratulations on the birth of May
