Mandymoo's Little Boy has Arrived!

Hey there

Thomas William (Tom) was born on 5th May at 5.28pm by normal delivery after 4 hrs 52 mins of labour.

MY dye date was 7th May but my BP was so high and i was already 3cm dilated so midwives decided to break my waters and put me on the drip on the Friday morning. It all kicked off about 12.30pm with contractions suddenly coming from nowhere. No pain relief for first 3 hours - just sat on a birthing ball and used some yoga breathing which really helped. Then has 40 mins of gas and air which just made me feel drunk like it did last time. So for last stage of labour i just dug into dh's poor hand and used yoga breathing!!

Can't say it didnt hurt but it was a really positive experience and one which i will never forget along with that of my dd's birth. Had epidural last time though so it was a bit different.

No problems with retained placenta like last time and only had 2 stitches.

Tom is absolutely gorgeous (obviously!) and his big sister has coped amazingly well and we are very proud of her. She has her moments when I think it all gets a bit too much for her (but i'm the same atm!) but on the whole she has been a little angel.

Tom is b/fing well and sleeping lots - he is a bit jaundiced but nothing major.

DH is off for two weeks so the plan is just to spend time together and enjoy it before i have to try and forge some kind of routine when DH goes back to work Sad

Anyway, sorry such a long post!!! XX
