Pepperrabbit finally delivers!

Freddie has finally arrived!
After 3 days in hospital last week with a failed induction @ 39 weeks for gestational diabetes, I went in again on monday for a 2nd go - having been told I'd have to have CS if unsuccessful again.
Absolutely nothing happened again for the first 2 doses and I had just sent DH home on monday night at about 8-ish cos of no action, when I started to contract - by the time they called him and he got back at say 9.30, I was in the delivery suite, waters had broken (I had to walk down the corridor to delivery and they follow with a mop for your waters - why??? in case you had any dignity left??) and I was begging for an epidural.
Was going OK - ie they'd phoned the aneasthetist! when Freddie's heartrate dropped dramatically. Suddenly the room's full of people getting me ready for emergency CS, ripping off nightie for gown, canula in wrist and scalp monitor on baby (most unpleasant multi-tasking experience I've EVER been through) DH has to run from the room and I remember sitting there looking at my hand literally dripping with blood from the canula and I could hear me crying in those big wails that small children make.
Then - they changed their minds! retrieved DH from the loo, and gave me back the entinox, Freddie had settled down again and emergency over.
So I just got on with it. Epidural worked on my tummy contractions and my legs but missed all the painful bits and I felt every single push but it was really quite calm after all the earlier mayhem.
He's 8lb 2ozs and was born at 1.25am on 11th April. No stitches (hurray!)
We think he's lovely - his sugars were fine and we came home yesterday afternoon.
