I've not thought of a new nick name for myself yet but just wanted to announce the birth of baby Max - born yesterday at home at 4:05pm weighing 9lbs 15oz.
I'd started having contractions and a bloody show on Monday night, called the poor midwife out at 11pm but it all turned out to be only pre-labour stuff - just as well as dd2 is very poorly with a respiratory virus and cried most of that night. Yesterday morning we went shopping etc., still with niggling contractions which got noticably stronger at 1pm. My midwife arrived at 3 and I was mightily glad to be told that I was at 5cm.
At 3:45 I was fully dilated and started pushing, which was just incredibly difficult for some reason - turned out that the little stinker had rotated to OP (face to pubes) during labour - after 10 minutes of him not budging and me ready to go to sleep we tried a few different positions and eventually got him out. A first degree tear and quite a lot of bruising was all the damage which I think is pretty good considering weight and position. It was so nice to just be able to flop down in my own bed afterwards and I had none of the postpartum problems I'd had previously. All in all a great experience (though not one I'd want to repeat for fun! ) really helped by my lovely community midwife who knew exactly what needed to be done and by dh propping me up during that awkward 2nd stage. Baby Max is feeding well and is very sweet.

Many congratulations to you all, what a great birth story. I know that feeling of not being able to push the baby out having had 2 OP labours and am mightily impressed that you managed to do it without intervention! Clever thing!
