Bigbaubleeyse: Lewis is finally here!!!!!

Hellllooooooo - this is the first time I have dared to sit at PC following......

Induction Date 3rd Dec - delay they were too busy.

Next day 4th Dec - finally got into a delivery room to be assessed to be told Lewis was breach (apparently a hard to diagnose type of position - little bugger after all this time!!). Decline offer of turning thingy and opted for C section BUT they couldn't fit us in that day so off we went home again!

So the next day again we got ready with DH having to 'prepare the neceesary area' and remove nail polish for theatre. We dug out our 'wedding compilation cd to play thoughout op. it went really well - I hadn't had time to worry so just got on with it and it was great.

Lewis was born at 1015 weighing 8lb 5oz, loads of hair (even has fine little hairs on the back of his ears and back - like a little caterpillar ) v v dry skin, big feet and brown eyes - DH cut cord and had him up tunic for skin to skin for 45mins while I was seen to. Then I was left alone with Lewis in recovery while DH went to de-gown and he went straight on breast. He has fed beautifully ever since. I even managed to put make-up on in recovery ready for visitors later that after.

My first night in hospital ok 2nd agggghhhhh..... but we all home now its great we love him sooooo much and we've been out today on our first trip - will post on postnatel thread wen I can.

THANK YOU to all the support from those MN'ers who have helped us get this far - inc those on induction sotries thread and c-section thread

Congratulations on the birth of Lewis BBE

LOL, I'd forgotten about the nurse trying to take nail varnish off my toes for theatre whilst I was mid contraction - hmmm, not really the pain relief I was going for

Hope all is going well for you and your family.

xx
