My amazing, wonderful friend, let's call her C, has found out her dad has terminal lung cancer. She told me today, and I was shedding a few little tears myself.
I've never met her dad, but knowing her, and her mum and brother, I just feel SO sad for them, C's granddad (on her mum's side) has also been very ill so they're really going through it at the moment.
She told me, rather randomly, over FB chat (she'd text others) and seeing it in text was just...awful. I guess it's how she felt comfortable telling me, and I'm OK with that, just felt odd seeing it in black and white.
I've had college friends lose aunts and uncles before, but never a close friend, and never a parent.
What can I do for her? I feel SO helpless
