Losing DH and I’ll be alone

DH has maybe twelve months; maybe six, maybe eighteen, but our time is limited.

I am brokenhearted for him and it’s incredibly hard but I can’t help my mind jumping to the future and it feels a bit bleak.

I am going to be lonely, so lonely. I know, friends - but let’s face it, friends only kind of go so far. You might meet friends for an hour or so and then you have the rest of the weekend or holiday.

I can do stuff, I know there’s always stuff to do. But I’m so sad that I won’t have people.

This is so sad. If you can, try to live in the moment. Make some special memories. The future will come and you will deal with it. You cannot predict how you will feel or what you will do. One bridge at a time.
what you are feeling is a normal response to a heart breaking situation. Get all the support you can. Sending love.

Golly, OP.
What a huge, sudden life change. I'm terribly sorry. I have no words if wisdom for the future, but be sure that you are in my thoughts. Xxx

Thanks. Sometimes it does really hit me like a truck and I feel really flat.

So sad to hear this. No wonder you are feeling flat.
None of us know what the future will hold, but I am sure you will find a way through

No words but with love. Flowers

I was so sorry to read your post. Obviously your DH is still with you, thankfully, but when the time comes: I'm not sure how old you are, but if you're under 50 there's a support group called WAY (widowed and young) and WAY UP for the over 50s. Lots of people in the same boat, and I understand meet ups and holidays are arranged amongst members.

Not sure if support groups are your thing, but I know they help a lot of people.
