I just thought I'd share the 'Letters To Loved Ones' post box scheme that is appearing in some cemeteries/crematoriums.

I know this won't be for everyone but I'm sure it will help some; especially ones that didn't get to say goodbye or they want to write a card on a birthday or anniversary.

You can write and post a letter to your loved one. You don't even need to put any names on it if you do not wish to.

Thanks for posting OP. I might have found that helpful when my DH died 10 years ago now. I'm sure others will.

It might.
But the letters are mulched.
Noone reads them or responds to them.
You cannot get them back.
It is a wholly symbolic gesture.
But what if you wanted to reread them later or compile them?
This is writing into the ether, same as leaving voicemails on their old phone or whatsapping.
Now Voicemails from Isabelle, the film, worked on the maxim that that brought solace.
I write WhatsApps myself to a loved one that aren't received.
So I understand the compulsion.
But if anyone doesn't understand it is a token for closure without any further help, it might cause distress. Writing to your loved one and storing them might be more useful, I'm not sure.
