Struggling to cope

My husband died a few days ago. He took his own life. I feel so alone. I have to carry on being a mum but I’m heartbroken.
I want to sit and talk about my husband and look through photos but my kids don’t want to.
I feel so angry at him and everyone else. It’s not fair. How long will this anger last? It’s not fair that everyone is carrying on and enjoying their summer when my life is on hold.

I'm so sorry for your loss - everything you are feeling right now is valid. I found this booklet from Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide helpful when my friend died 3 years ago:

It is a really tough thing to process, I hope you have people around you to lean on. You can and will get through this 💐

Oh OP, I’m so sorry, what a terrible, utterly devastating shock.
Of course you want to talk about your DH and it’s awful you can’t do so with your friends at present. Some people are strange concerning death, perhaps they don’t want to upset you or are frightened because they think they won’t know how to console you.
A freind who lost their young adult daughter to suicide found bereavement counselling very helpful over a period of months. Can you ask your GP for help in accessing this, it’s a specialist service I believe?

I think sincerely that it might help you, based on my friend’s experience.

Deepest condolences OP. What a shocking and traumatic thing to have happened. I hope you are ok. I lost my husband 6 weeks ago and understand your feelings, although my husband's death was the result of a medical trauma. . Is there anyone, besides your children you can talk to? Do you have a friend who would sit with you? Do think about grief counselling. You can cry and scream and rant to a stranger which is very helpful. The only advice I can give is to take each day, hour or even minute as it comes. Breath and find comfort where you can.
