Funeral Readings: complex relationship

I am hoping the brilliant hivemind of MN may be able to help.

I need to pull together a funeral plan for a close family member who was at best challenging, frequently awful. They had long term mental health problems but despite this were loved.

I want the readings to reflect the totality of their life. The good and the less savoury.

I am aware this may mean needing more than one reading!

If you have found anything which covers these bases, would you be able to share them? I am finding it difficult. They loved poetry, knew they had issues deep down, and were often very loving and kind despite the mess surrounding them.

Thanks

I'm very sorry to hear about your loved one.

I'm not sure this quite fits your brief but I'll post it in case someone might use it (originally found it on MN)

Finnish poem about death

Now I am free and with the wind I get to walk the borders of time.
I am the glitter of the stars, the flight of the clouds, the tender drop of the morning dew.
I am not gone, I come back to you in every rising morning.
And in every darkening evening I wish you goodnight.

I really love Fear No More the Heat of the Sun by Shakespeare and have written it down for my own funeral. It’s a classic funeral poem but to me because it’s such wonderful poetry it can encompass quite a range of emotions.

There is something to be said for writing down the whole truth as you want, and then editing a bit. The truth and nothing but the truth is sometimes enough.
