Sun life over 50 plan

My dad has a funeral plan for a simple cremation, there doesn't seem to be a value on the policy that I can see. He also took out a sun life over 50 plan. I have the option of having them pay me directly or sending an invoice from the funeral home which one do you think would be better? I have never felt with them before.

We had this with my Dad this year, same policy. My Dad wanted a no fuss direct cremation. We arranged it and then Sunlife paid the funeral company directly. It was really easy and they paid it very quickly. There was some left which was then paid to myself and my brother who were 50/50 beneficiaries to our Dad's estate.
