Saying goodbye on phone

My mum has lived abroad for many years. My sister lives with her as she has been through a divorce and health difficulties. My mum was rushed to hospital after a blood clot and was in intensive care for while. My sister suggested I say goodbye to my mum over the phone as she was deteriorating. I didn’t have long to think about it as she immediately put the phone to my unconscious mums ear. It was so traumatic. I know my sister was doing her best in awful circumstances but I’m having problems getting over it. My mum died the next day.

Oh that's so hard and I'm so
Sorry you lost your Mum so
Suddenly. Would you rather have not said good bye? Are you going to the funeral? Can you say your goodbyes there maybe?

This happened to me but with a grandparent.
Similar circumstances. Whilst it was a shock at the time, it is the one thing I shall always be grateful to my sister for and was the right thing to do at the time. My sincerest condolences for your loss x
