My mum chose to live 6000 miles away from her daughters and grandchildren. Only visiting once in 19 years. We visited her 6 or 7 times over the years. She died recently - I’m having trouble processing her death. Why was living in a warm climate more important to her than family? I feel numb.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I think it must be more difficult to process when there is no difference in your day to day, or week to week living.

I don't think 'living in a warm climate was more important than family ' though. I think this is just your grief talking.
