My surgeon and doctors confirmed an examination would happen on the ectopic pregnancy to confirm it was ectopic with this examination do they run tests on the sac/fetal pole etc? This was my 4th loss so I know there was mention of investigating

I'm sorry for your loss OP. Flowers
Did they remove your fallopian tube or just the pregnancy? How far along were you? I haven't had an ectopic, but have lost 3 pregnancies.
What tests would you want on the sac and fetal pole? Was it too early to see the foetus?
Sorry if TMI. With my 2nd loss, I collected the products and the EPU tested them. As it was my 2nd loss, they wouldn't do genetic testing, but at least examined the products to confirm there had been a foetus, it wasn't molar nor a blighted ovum.

My 3rd loss, I again collected the products and asked for genetic testing, as it was my 3rd loss. I recall needing to sign a specific consent form (which I don't recall in the 2nd one) for the genetic testing. I was told that sometimes, nothing can be found and no reason. They did find the cause in my cause and it was a random, genetic issue, likely due to me being older and having older eggs!

As a minimum, I would think they will do histology checks to see if there was a foetus there. I'm unsure about genetic testing. Did you sign anything or ask for this? Were they aware it was your 4th loss? Just know that many who lose a tube go onto have a healthy pregnancy in the future x
