Hi,
Would a coroner call for an inquest if a person would die caused by the action of suicide?

An inquest would be called to establish whether it was suicide, or an accident, or foul play.

Are you OK @towelsand ?

Please call Samaritans on 116 123 if you are going through something complicated (you don't actually have to be on the brink to call them. Dwelling on issues connected with suicide can be an early warning that you need to talk and they will help.

I'm fine, thank you for asking,

It's about someone that we know

Yes my friend took his own life and there was an inquest. Not sure whether they would do one for every case though.

Official information. Inquest is held to establish the cause of death, if the cause of death is unclear. Cause of death is needed to register the death.
