Affected by sudden death

Recently a colleague who I don't know well died very suddenly, she was not old at all and not ill.

I'm finding it affecting me greatly, much more than I think it should as I didn't know her well and we only interacted occasionally.

I've had depression and anxiety before but not for about 10 years, the way I'm feeling now is like back then, tired, lack of appetite, no interest in doing things, no pleasure from things I'd normally enjoy.

Is this normal or is there something wrong with me.

When someone we know dies it always reminds us of our own mortality. That is only natural. Even if we did not know them well.

It sounds like a big shock. Even though you didn’t know them…could it be reminding you of a sudden death you experienced before, maybe someone you were close to? Might be like a ptsd emotional flashback kinda thing…?
