Has anyone used this? My brother used it about three weeks ago and has had no confirmation email, no letters through about council tax, nothing. There's no way to check online for progress. Does it just take ages or has it failed?

I have, it took a few weeks, like everything else to do with the death. It’s just a case of waiting

I used it for my mother when she died at the end of November. Some agencies got in touch fairly quickly but others (DWP re her attendance allowance), I am only just hearing from. The wheels of some admin departments grind exceedingly slowly!

Oh, wow, thanks so so much. It is just so unnerving that you can check and get no kind of confirmation email? Obviously organisations like banks (buy also utilities etc) have been much quicker so it is good to have some perspective. Thanks so much.

I used it in December and found it really easy and all seemed to go ok. Hope you’re doing ok in all this - it’s not fun Flowers

I used it in January and found that every one I had named on the form were really good and helpful.

My DD is dealing with her father's estate and was surprised that quite a few organisations are not covered by this. For example TV Licensing. She cannot understand why they have contacted her yet again as her DF's TV license is due for renewal.3 times now. They told her they aren't included and fair enough, but she has told them herself and even sent a copy of the death certificate but they keep contacting her.
