Expat's Appointment Is Set!

I'm booked into the Nuffield Hospital in Glasgow for Monday at 2PM.

The consultant GYN phoned me today. He'll examine me first, then I'll meet the anaesthetist and go to theatre for 5PM.

They gave me an afternoon time slot because it does take us a while to get there, but I'll have to stay overnight and go home at lunchtime on Tuesday.

I asked the GYN about those pessaries and waiting, but he said he prefers to examine the patient first, because sometimes the cervix is already soft and easily opened when a woman has miscarried, and also that in women who have already had vaginal deliveries, it's not so difficult to open the cervix once the patient is anaesthetised.

I'd never heard of using them before, as I had a D&C in another country and they didn't use them.

I've had two D&Cs for mc without pessaries, expat (and a subsequent successful pg, so no need to worry that it's damaging to do it without).

i had 2 erpc without pessaries. ( had pessaries for first ( not for erpc) but they didnt work and ended up having a erpc in end! my dd was born in Sept!

glad to hear appointment is arranged, hope it goes ok. give yourself lots and lots of time to work your way through things, you have had an awful experience
